You're building it. We'll make sure it's legal.

Owner builder stage inspections - same day response, no contractor markup.

"We owner-built our dream home but could not get it signed off - three different certifiers said different things. No1 gave us a clear compliance checklist on day one and saw us through to OC."

Owner builders in NSW must meet the same NCC compliance standards as registered builders - and every critical stage must be inspected by a certifier before the next stage begins.

  • CDC or CC issued on the same timeline as registered builder projects
  • All 5 critical stage inspections available with direct-to-certifier booking
  • OC issued on completion - required before any sale or insurance claim

  • The project is Class 1 or Class 10 (single dwellings, garages, outbuildings)
  • Architectural drawings and engineering reports are prepared by qualified professionals
  • BASIX certificate is obtained before CDC/CC submission

Don't worry, we've got you.

Owner builder certification - answered.

Yes - all owner builder projects in NSW require stage inspections by a licensed certifier, and an Occupation Certificate at completion. You cannot self-certify.

An Owner Builder Permit from NSW Fair Trading is required for any work over $10,000. You must also hold a White Card (construction induction) and, for certain work, relevant trade qualifications.

The standard critical stages are: pre-slab, frame, waterproofing/insulation, and final. Some projects may require additional stages depending on the design.

Yes - but you must have an Occupation Certificate, and owner-built homes sold within 7 years of completion require a statutory warranty period disclosure. We can advise on the OC process.
